Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina: Cardinals Hall of Fame Nominees (2026)

The St. Louis Cardinals are gearing up for the new season, and with it, a new class of nominees for the Cardinals Hall of Fame. In 2026, two franchise icons, Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina, are on the ballot, alongside two outfielders who had their best seasons as members of the Cardinals: George Hendrick and Brian Jordan. But here's where it gets controversial...

Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina are considered shoo-ins for most Cardinals fans, and for good reason. Both players have left an indelible mark on the franchise. Molina, a decorated catcher, played his entire 19-year career with the Cardinals, ranking in the top five in team history with 2,226 games played, 2,168 hits, and 408 doubles. He is also the most decorated catcher in team history with 10 All-Star appearances, nine Gold Glove awards, and four Platinum Glove awards. Meanwhile, Pujols, one of the best players in baseball during his first stint with the Cardinals, won the National League Rookie of the Year award in 2001, was voted NL MVP in 2005, 2008, and 2009, and was the offensive force for the championship teams in 2006 and 2011.

However, while Pujols and Molina are widely expected to be inducted, the same cannot be said for Hendrick and Jordan. Hendrick, a strong and steady offensive force for some of the most exciting teams in Cardinals history, drove in the winning run in Game 7 of the 1982 season. Jordan, a dynamic outfielder with a mix of speed and power, posted a 20-20 season in 1995 with 22 home runs and 24 stolen bases. Despite their impressive careers, both players are on the ballot, and their chances of induction remain uncertain.

Voting is open now and will remain open through April 17. The player with the most votes will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame on September 12. So, Cardinals fans, it's time to make your voices heard. Who do you think should be inducted? And what do you think of the controversial choices on the ballot?
